It never ceases to amaze me the power that mass has in revitalizing me. Sunday was even more powerful because it was my niece’s first Communion. Seeing the excitement in all their faces, like they were being let into an exclusive club, was awesome. Although it’ll be some time before they truly understand the scope of the “club” they just joined, for me, watching these kids being a part of the same transubstantiation that took place in the upper room just outside of Jerusalem over 2000 years ago was both inspiring and humbling. And even though I’m sure the thoughts of after parties were on most of the kids (and their families) minds, all I could think of was how through this “simple” act we are all connected, from the Apostles to my niece, by sharing in the same body of Christ.

Always live the faith. God bless.
